It was a breezy and rain-soaked Sunday morning in Lagos, but the showers did little to dampen the spirits of church members. With joyful anticipation, they arrived, ready to partake in yet another uplifting worship experience at New Nations Church.
The day began with sessions from the Discipleship School, Beginners Class, and Sunday School, which all held earlier in the morning. These laid a solid spiritual foundation ahead of the main worship service.
The service commenced with a call to worship led by our Senior Pastor, Rev. Samson Abimbola, followed by a powerful and spirit-lifting session of praise and worship led by the New Nations Choir. The atmosphere was charged with reverence and joy.
Rev. Abimbola then introduced our guest minister for the day, Rev. Kolade Babarinde, who was invited to share the Word and also highlight the launch of the new book, “Building the Family Ark” authored by Rev. David Adeyemo.
In his sermon titled “The Christian Home Must Be an Ark,” Rev. Babarinde drew from Joshua 24:14–16 and Genesis 7:12–17 to paint a vivid picture of what a godly home should represent.
He explained that the Ark symbolizes S.O.S:

S – Safety (Salvation)

O – Obedience

S – Sacrifice (Worship)
He further broke down the word “ARK” as an acronym representing qualities essential for a thriving Christian family:

A – Agreement, Affection, and Attention (Amos 3:3; Song of Solomon 1:15)

R – Responsibility, Romance, and Resourcefulness (Colossians 2:12–17; Ephesians 4:29–32)

K – Knowledge, Kindness, and Keenness (Philippians 3:10; 1 Corinthians 13)
Rev. Babarinde emphasized that Rev. David Adeyemo’s book is a clarion call to end confusion, division, depression, and separation in Christian homes. It offers practical wisdom rooted in scripture for families seeking to build a godly foundation and navigate the complexities of marriage and parenting.
The service was a beautiful blend of worship, the Word, and wisdom, leaving attendees inspired to strengthen their homes as spiritual Arks—places of refuge, obedience, and worship.
Book Launch Segment
The book launch segment was gracefully anchored by Deacon GreatMark Ibigbami, who encouraged the congregation to generously support the ministry of the author through their donations and pledges. He emphasized the importance of investing in resources that build godly homes and strengthen families.

David Adeyemo expressed heartfelt appreciation to the church for their prayers, generosity, and unwavering support of the vision behind “Building the Family Ark.” He noted that the journey of birthing this book was guided by divine inspiration, and he was thankful to be surrounded by a faith community that believes in the message and mission.
